This school in London had the unexpected need to safely dispose of needles and syringes. As these are potentially dangerous the school had to ensure they complied with Health and Safety legislation.

| Requirements | Scott Greenbrook, Senior Site Manager at Heavers Farm Primary School, is a loyal customer of Wilson Washrooms and has been for a number of years. Wilson Washrooms currently provides the school’s sanitary bins and nappy bins at the school. Scott contacted us recently with a concern he had regarding an issue they had come across in the school. They found themselves being in need of a Sharp Disposal Service as one of the pupils had been diagnosed as Diabetic. |
| Solution | Scott was delighted to find that this was another service Wilson Washroom Services could supply for him due to our extensive coverage throughout the UK. A little more information was obtained to determine what type of Sharps Bin was required. In this case a yellow lid container was required. Sharps bins with a yellow lid are designed for waste that contains medical residue such as medically contaminated needles and syringes (including ones that are fully discharged). |
| Outcome | A sharps container was delivered to site and an uplift and disposal service was agreed on with the client. The client was delighted to get this organised so quickly and efficiently and also as they have now met with the duty of care requirements for their student whilst also meeting with Health and Safety Requirements for the school. |
