What is needed for a washroom to be sympathetic?

With an aging and more active population there are several conditions that require a hygiene disposal service in at least one male toilet cubicle.

Hook on the door

Allows people to hang clothing, bags and luggage while changing stoma bags. This provides more space in the cubicle.

This enables ostomates to spread out their items easily and avoid having to use unsanitary surfaces.

Lets users to see their stoma while chaining their appliances.

Avoids embarrassment for men and women having to dispose of their stoma bag in public view.

Can we make our washroom cubicles stoma friendly?

Wilson Washrooms can make this easy for you. We will install:

  • Bespoke disposal bin and stoma disposal bag dispenser in all or one dedicated cubicle in the men’s washroom
  • Signage on washroom door and cubicle door included
  • Specialist stoma disposal bag available to minimise smells
  • Every bin installed will trigger a donation to men’s health charity Cahonas Scotland. Please ask for more details.

Stoma User Key Facts:

  • 50% of all people with stomas suffer leakage
  • 1 in 25 UK men over 40 experience urinary leakage
  • Over 20,000 men in Scotland live with a stoma
  • Over 30% of those surveyed admitted to finding toilets that suit their needs

Wilson Washroom Services also install stoma bag disposal facilities in washrooms to allow people who have had colostomy surgery or similar health procedures to retain a full, active life.

Our stoma change service for workplace toilets includes a wall-mounted mirror to assist changing and a sanitary bin for convenient disposal in the bathroom stall. We also fit a small shelf in the cubicle to store individual stoma change kits that include cleansing wipes for hygienic care.

Why choose Wilson Washroom Services for Men's Health Hygiene Bins?

Wilson Washroom Services provide commercial washroom solutions across Scotland and the North East of England.

We are the premier independent washroom service company in Scotland, offering a full range of washroom services, equipment and entrance matting. We also pride ourselves on delivering a reliable, friendly and personable service.

Services will be provided by the same service operative to avoid disturbing staff by asking where the washrooms are located.

At every visit we digitally capture our client’s signature on a mobile device which then instantly emails our client with a service record and waste transfer document on completion of the service.

Normal service is provided on a monthly basis 12 x per annum but may be offered more frequently or infrequently dependent on your needs.

While all commercial washrooms should comply with their legal obligations, we believe they should also include everything required for optimal hygiene. Our male hygiene disposal units are modern, sleek and easy to use.

If your business wants to provide a hygienic and environmentally friendly service, we provide the complete package.

Our hygiene technicians are fully trained, discreet and can liaise with you to meet your every requirement. During each visit we will not only empty all your sanitary bins but will ensure they are clean and in full working order before we leave the premises.

We do not have the overheads of a larger organisation therefore this is reflected in the price of our services. You may be very pleasantly surprised.

Your Questions Answered: Men's Hygiene Disposal

We have answered some common questions people ask about male incontinence disposal and hygiene waste removal.

Please also visit our Frequently Asked Questions page for more information on our products and services.

Yes, you can change your stoma bag yourself but you need some equipment to do it, such as a fresh bag and hygienic wipes.

Salts Healthcare provides advice on changing your stoma bag but remember to contact your healthcare professional if you have any questions.

Recent legal, health and environmental information has shown how used sanitary products that were flushed down the toilet cause pollution and sewer blockages.

Overflowing, or unavailable, bins in public toilets further exacerbates the problem. The best option is to use a sanitary bin which is specifically designed for the disposal of used sanitary products; this is also required by law for UK businesses under the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992.

At home, you should put your used sanitary products in the general waste bin. Never flush them down the toilet.

Male incontinence can affect you at any age and may stem from health conditions including nerve/muscle damage or weakness, diabetes or an enlarged prostate. Your healthcare professional can provide advice and support if you are affected by urinary incontinence.

We have an informative blog on incontinence with some helpful links and the services we provide to support those affected by the condition. Wider awareness of this issue is helping to reduce stigma and also allows workplaces across leisure, commercial and educational settings, hospitality venues and retail outlets to provide facilities for their staff and visitors.

There are some cases where you may be entitled to free incontinence pads on the NHS. Speak to your GP for a referral.

You could also do an online search for ‘free male sanitary pads’ or ‘free incontinence pads’ – some companies offer free trials of their products and this is a good way to find a product that suits your needs.

It’s vital to look after your mental as well as your physical health.

The age-old edict of keeping a stiff upper lip is thankfully giving way to honest conversations about the pressures of everyday life and work, and how self-care is an important aspect of health overall.
