The Green Loop and Sustainability
Wilson Washroom Services are suppliers of North Shore washroom products manufactured by UK based company Northwood. These products have a very high build quality and the ranges are suitable for use in low, medium and high footfall washrooms in a wide variety of premises.
In addition to providing great products, Northwood is proactive in sustainability and recycling. Their key objectives and ambitions include:
- Reducing waste to landfill
- Reducing plastic related CO2 emissions
- Promoting circularity
The Green Loop project
As part of their commitment to sustainability, Northwood are actively involved with Green Loop. This initiative centres on enhancing and supporting the bioeconomy throughout Europe aiming to develop more sustainable manufacturing by retrofitting conventional manufacturing systems that are adapted to up to date bio-based production.
In addition, waste is minimised as much as possible and used as a resource.
The process is relatively simple:
- The end user collects plastic toilet roll cores/inserts
- The inserts are returned to Northwood
- The plastic is processed back into raw material
- The raw material is used in future inserts
Wilson Washroom Services Scotland branch fully supports and endorses the objectives and processes carried out by Northwood and the Green Loop project and are proud to participate in an initiative that has positive social, environmental and scientific impacts.
