Do you need better workplace and washroom odour control at your business?

Bad smells in your toilets or building can have a massive impact on that crucial first impression – so valuable to your business or brand.
At Wilson Washrooms we have a full array of solutions to remove malodours. The key is identifying what’s causing the smell, and that’s where we use our experience and CSI technology to ensure the solution fits the problem.
Finding the source of your washroom odours
The key to all air care solutions is getting to the source of what’s causing the odour. In most cases, it’s usually a poor cleaning schedule with the wrong products. We use black light technology to identify where organic materials causing the odours are located, then plan how best to eradicate or mask those odours. This can be more challenging in older buildings or spaces such as gym changing facilities or shower rooms.
Advances in technology mean that at Wilson Washrooms we’ve moved away from traditional CFC-based aerosol dispensers to more modern solutions. Depending on the environment, these can be small battery-operated passive units to large-scale diffusers which can fragrance hotel atriums or gymnasiums easily.
For more difficult environments such as sports changing rooms or drainage challenges, we use air sterilization units which kill all airborne bacteria including moulds and fungi with tiny amounts of ozone, leaving a clean and safe environment.
Our Air Care Product Range

Blu Away – A specialist washroom cleaning product which eradicates organic materials, especially urine smells. It’s great for stadiums, campsites, bars and sports clubs – and external problem areas too.
Oxygen Viva E – A small precision fragrance delivery system that is discreet and easy to maintain, with no CFCs and recyclable refills. Great for smaller toilets including offices, shops, restaurants, and cafés.
Oxygen Pro – A large precision fragrance delivery system that works best in larger washroom areas or small reception areas/offices that want a pleasant ambiance.
Velair Serenity (pictured above) – Designed for prestigious locations, this air freshening unit can deliver a consistent aroma over 900m2. The fragrance control can be adjusted to suit your business needs and units are serviced dependent on the size and volume of luxury oils needed.
AirSteril – Uses multiple processes to clean the air by producing fine amounts of ozone. Great for dental and doctor surgery waiting rooms, sports club changing rooms and offices. Not only does it destroy smells but it also kills airborne bacteria so reduces the risk of cold, flu and other circulatory infections.
Why washroom odour control matters
Smell is our most primal sense, developing first in the womb and capable of distinguishing over a trillion different odours. It’s powerfully linked to emotions and memory, playing a crucial role in detecting danger, influencing comfort, and supporting mental well-being. Creating a fresh, odour-free environment is about more than pleasant impressions; it’s fundamental to the health and satisfaction of your customers and staff.
Frequently Asked Questions on Workplace and Washroom Odour Control
Q: Our washrooms don’t smell bad, so why invest in air care?
Nasal fatigue is a common issue: you become desensitised to familiar smells in your own environment and only register new odours. What seems neutral to you may be unpleasant to visitors experiencing it for the first time. Introducing and regularly rotating fragrances ensures your facilities make a positive impression on everyone who uses them.
Q: I’ve tried everything—nothing works!
If nothing has worked, the source hasn’t been identified correctly. Professional assessment makes the difference. Our team brings fresh perspective and specialist tools like black light technology to locate the actual cause of odours, not just mask the symptoms. Get expert eyes (and noses) on the problem.
Q: I can buy air fresheners from the supermarket, they’re much cheaper.
True, but supermarket products are designed for domestic use, not commercial environments. Your premises experience peak traffic times, varying occupancy levels and higher usage than a home bathroom. Commercial air care systems can be adjusted and programmed to match your specific needs, delivering consistent results throughout busy periods when you need them most.
Q: Are there other commercial washroom products you would recommend for washroom odour control and to improve toilet smells?
For gents’ toilets, we would suggest urinal caps or urinal mats to help with bad smells. They help to break down the uric acids that can cause smells.
